School News

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

During the month of January, our Benson Hill community honored Dr. King’s vision of equality and justice for all.  4th grade students shared skits reenacting powerful moments in the Civil Rights Movement. Students also wrote messages on cutouts of their hands sharing what they do to help others in response to Dr. King’s quote.  The assembled project was on display at the University of Washington in the Health and Sciences building.

Kindergarten girl thumbs up

Registration for new kindergarten students began in January 2020. Parents of eligible students can visit their neighborhood school to pick-up a registration packet. A child must be five years old by August 31, 2020 to be eligible for kindergarten enrollment.

At Benson Hill we are fortunate and proud to be a part of a beautifully diverse and culturally rich community.  In November we had the opportunity to celebrate our diversity at Multicultural Night, an evening of sharing our cultures including food, dance, music, art and stories. Thank you to all of our families, staff, and community members for their participation in making this exciting night a success!
